Which technology, and why?
Not one supplier.
The short answer
In October 2026 no language model is best or cheapest at everything at once: Claude leads the general ranking, other models lead the Dutch-language ranking. Prices differ by more than a factor of a hundred, and the top tier does not get cheaper by itself. And every supplier has regular outages. A good assistant therefore chooses the right model per task and can fall back on a second supplier.
What the choice depends on
| Component | What you choose | Why it matters |
|---|---|---|
| Language model | per task: small and fast for simple work, the strongest for hard thinking | price and quality differ sharply per level |
| Speech | recognition and voice, in your language | speed and clarity on the phone |
| Where it runs | the server, and the region of the thinking | privacy, speed and cost |
| Fallback | a second supplier | every supplier has outages |
| Integrations | open standards such as MCP | less tied to one supplier |
No model wins at everything
On Artificial Analysis’s general Intelligence Index, Claude Opus 5.5 and Sonnet 5.5 were at the top on 3 October 2026. On EuroEval’s Dutch-language ranking other models lead, including an open model; the newest Claude models have not been measured there yet. Choosing one model for everything means coming second somewhere.
Every supplier has outages
Between late July and early October 2026 Anthropic reported 21 major outages, OpenAI 4 in three weeks, and ElevenLabs 7 since June. In early September several major services were down at the same time. A supplier’s built-in fallback falls back to another model of the same supplier; falling back to a different supplier is something you arrange yourself.
How Oneeno does it, and what tailored allows
The team works with Claude and switches between the levels of Claude, from fast and light up to the highest, depending on the question. A European model as a second supplier is coming soon. If you want everything in Europe, we organise that, within our service.
For intelligence, one subscription with one provider is very good too. It does not offer that in combination with the right level per task, a second supplier for when things go wrong, and a choice of where the thinking happens.
Frequently asked questions
Is Claude better than ChatGPT for a business assistant?
In the general ranking of October 2026 Claude is at the top; in the Dutch-language ranking models from OpenAI and Google lead. It depends on the task; a good assistant chooses per task.
Should I choose one model now or use several side by side?
Several, per task: a fast model for simple work, the strongest for hard thinking, and a second supplier for when the first has an outage.
How do I avoid being locked in to one AI supplier?
Connect through open standards such as MCP, keep your data and settings in standard files on your own server, and make sure a second supplier can take over.
