The same model.
A different result.
The short answer
When the models are the same, the difference is not in the model but in what surrounds it. In 2026 every major service has memory, integrations and agents. A tailored assistant adds coherence: private and business in one assistant, reading your own business data by voice and recording things in your files, and a team of specialists you call by name and who follow up. With it comes someone who sets it up for you and keeps it current. On any single feature an off-the-shelf service can be just as good or better; the coherence does not come with it.
Feature by feature
Features and prices as the providers listed them on their own pages on 3 October 2026. Each off-the-shelf service is strong on any single feature; the question is what you get together.
| Feature | Off the shelf (ChatGPT, Claude, Copilot, Gemini) | Tailored (Oneeno) |
|---|---|---|
| The language model | strong; the best models are within a few percent of each other | the same kind of models from specialist providers |
| Memory | built in; you fill it yourself | filled in advance with your files, people and preferences, and kept current |
| Integrations | many ready-made connectors; you switch them on and manage them | set up for your mail, calendar, folders and software |
| Roles and agents | building blocks to make your own agents | two teams of digital specialists, set up for your work; called by name |
| By voice | talking and asking questions | reading your own business data by voice and recording things in your files |
| Phone | talking in the app; calling on your behalf only in limited ways | its own number; calls after your approval |
| Set up by people | at Microsoft from 150 licences; at the others for large organisations | for a single entrepreneur: a conversation first, then set-up and installation |
| Where your data lives | in the provider’s cloud | on a server in your company’s name, in Europe |
| Price | around €16 – €25 per user per month | €5,000 – €25,000 one-off (Organisation on request), then indicatively €100 – €800 per month, depending on edition and use |
Why the model no longer makes the difference
The best language models are close together: according to Stanford’s AI Index 2026, the leading model was only 2.7% ahead of the pack in March 2026. Choosing an assistant on the model alone means choosing between near equals.
What does make a difference is everything around it. In Microsoft’s Work Trend Index 2026, among 20,000 knowledge workers in ten countries including the Netherlands, organisational factors explain more than twice as much of the value of AI as what individuals do with it. It is about set-up, support and ways of working, not the subscription.
The core: everything connects, and you do it by voice
What sets a tailored system apart from a standard assistant is coherence. Your private appointments and your business files in one assistant, with rules about what stays private. Looking something up in your own business data by voice, and recording something in your file: a decision, a note, a commitment. Calling a team member by name (“ask the CFO what this does to the margin”), or several at once in one round. And having team members follow up: changes in your projects are tracked, and promises are monitored until they are kept.
On each of those features on its own, a standard assistant is often good too: talking, searching, building agents. A standard assistant does not offer them in combination: private and business in one conversation, reading your own business data by voice and recording in your files, and a team you address by name that follows up by itself.
What “tailored” does mean
Three things. Someone sets the assistant up for you, based on a conversation about your work. On day one it already knows what it needs to: your ongoing matters, your people, your rules about what it may do itself and what not. And afterwards someone keeps it current as your work changes or a better model arrives.
For writing, summarising and thinking along, ChatGPT is very good too. ChatGPT does not offer that in combination with set-up by people, its own phone number that calls for you, and a server in your company’s name. That is how to read every comparison in this guide: honest feature by feature, and then the question of what you get together.
What tailored makes possible
Tailored is a different way of working: not adapting your work to a standard app, but building an assistant and a team around how you work. What that makes possible goes further than a standard service can offer, because it is set up per client and built where needed.
A few examples, with an honest note on where Oneeno stands. Calling team members by name, several at once, and recording in your file by voice: available now. Adding a team member for your field on top of the core team: available now, from Executive. Choosing where the thinking happens, up to everything in Europe: we organise that on request, within our service. Making a team member responsible for a subject, such as your cash flow or contract renewals, so that it monitors it, reports and accounts for it: we build that together with the client, if they want it and it can be done. A connection with your own software or database, or writing into your own systems after your approval: also built together.
More providers will come to work this way; it cannot be otherwise, for the same reasons set out in this guide. We are happy to research what tailoring delivers, also where it is hard. And if we think we cannot do something well, we do not do it.
Why it costs more, and what you get back
A tailored assistant costs more than a consumer subscription. That is deliberate: Oneeno aims to give you everything you ask for, and sometimes that means building something that did not exist yet. A twenty-euro subscription cannot do that, and does not need to.
That is also why it does not start with a download. First a conversation about your work, your people and what you want to hand over; then we set it up and install it. Like a car built to order: you do not buy it off the shelf.
One app for all your agents, set up for you
Your business agents and your personal help in one app: the digital CFO who knows your figures, the lawyer, the minute-taker, and also the concierge who arranges your appointments and travel. One conversation, one memory, one place with your rules.
It is not a standard app that is the same for everyone. Each assistant is set up per person, with the agents and integrations that fit that person.
When off the shelf is enough
For separate tasks you set up yourself, with no follow-up and no sensitive data of others, a subscription of around twenty euros is enough. If you work entirely in Microsoft 365 and mainly want help in your own documents, Copilot is a logical choice. We would rather say so honestly than have you pay too much.
Frequently asked questions
What is the biggest difference between a tailored AI assistant and a standard assistant?
Coherence. Private and business in one assistant; reading your own business data by voice and recording in your files; a team of specialists you call by name, several at once; and team members who follow up on what is going on. Each part exists elsewhere on its own; the combination does not.
Is a tailored AI assistant better than ChatGPT if they use the same model?
For writing, summarising and thinking along, ChatGPT is very good too, with a comparable model. ChatGPT does not offer that in combination with set-up by people, its own phone number that calls for you and a server in your company’s name. That is where the difference lies, not in the model.
Why pay for an AI assistant when ChatGPT costs twenty euros?
For separate tasks, twenty euros is enough. With a set-up assistant you pay for what surrounds it: set-up for your work, integrations, its own number, its own server and maintenance. It costs more than a consumer subscription because what you ask for gets built.
Can I download a tailored assistant?
No. It starts with a conversation about your work and what you want to hand over. Then it is set up and installed on a server in your company’s name.
What does a tailored AI assistant cost?
At Oneeno €5,000 – €25,000 one-off (Organisation on request), then indicatively €100 – €800 per month, depending on edition and use. An off-the-shelf subscription costs around €16 to €25 per user per month.
Curious what tailored means for you?
It starts with a conversation about your work. Afterwards you know what you get and what it costs.
